The Best Springs in Florida
Florida has more than over 700 natural springs. Here are some of my favorite, and what I personally consider to be the best springs in Florida
- Rainbow Springs: I consider this to be one of the most beautiful springs in Florida, including the beautiful spring run in Rainbow River.
- Wakulla Springs: One of my favorites. Wakulla is one of Florida’s largest, deepest, and most famous springs, located south of Tallahassee.
- Devil’s Den: A must-visit! This is a very unique underground spring, inside a cavern. Located in Williston.
- Ginnie Springs: Often over-crowded, and kind of ruined because of how it’s managed. But, definitely one of the best springs in Florida. Popular for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming, it’s in High Springs.
- Weeki Wachee Springs: Perfect for wildlife viewing, hiking, paddling, and tubing, located in Spring Hill.
- Three Sisters Springs: A beautiful spring, filled with manatees in the winter! A great spot for swimming, snorkeling, and wildlife-spotting, situated in Crystal River.
- Gilchrist Blue Springs: Known for its ultra-clear water, this is the newest state park. Located in High Springs.
- Ponce de Leon State Park: Home to a main spring vent that produces 14 million gallons of 68-degree water daily, located in Northwest Florida.
- Warm Mineral Springs: Located in North Port, Warm Mineral Springs is known for its healing waters. This is also special because it’s one of the only hot springs in Florida.
These are some of my favorite springs in Florida. What are yours?
